Randi Blakeslee

Randi Blakeslee makes her home in Troy, New York. A graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Randi worked as a graphic artist and illustrator.

The influence of bird-watching parents instilled an interest and appreciation of birds. Marriage to cabinetmaker Andrew May broadened her knowledge of wood and tools. Now with sketch pad and canoe she gathers ideas and information as well as driftwood used to complete her sculptures.

Randi has been carving birds for stores and private collectors for over fifteen years. Her carving is not confined to birds as she often is commissioned to do carvings for antique restoration, signs, gold leaf and other forms of wildlife.
